Comments

There's a new commenting system. It's similar to the old one, but there are a couple of important changes. Here are the relevant details.

Commenting was revised in October 2026. It now uses the native system in the website software (Ghost) on which this site is built.

The bullet points below highlight key changes from the old system. It is broadly similar, but some of these differences determine how and when your comments appear, and (potentially) disappear.

You can only read or submit comments if you are a sponsor or subscriber to The Apiarist.

Ghost has some useful guidelines on good commenting; be respectful, stay on topic, share your sources, be constructive, report inappropriate comments, and keep your member profile up-to-date.

With thanks to the experts at MagicPages (who host this site) all ~7,000 historical comments have been imported. If you look at posts in the archive, some will have comments from 'Anonymous' that you might recognise as your own.
