RSS … oops!
At 4 am I'm usually getting my beauty sleep. Some would say, much needed.
What I'm not doing is sending emails.
Nevertheless, paid members ('sponsors') of The Apiarist received an email on the morning of the 21st of April announcing their very own RSS feed.
This is a service I will be offering … once the bugs are ironed out. I was beta testing the system and should have been the only recipient of the email. However, the IT backroom staff left a line or two of debugging code in the system, which resulted in everyone getting the email.
I apologise.
I hate receiving unsolicited emails, particularly when they contain a long and indecipherable URL. They look dodgy, and — if you were suspicious — you had every right to be.
If you don't know what RSS feeds are, you can safely ignore the email having deleted it. If you want to know what RSS feeds are, a good place to start is the Wikipedia entry for them. Some find them a convenient way to read regularly updated websites.
The intention was (and still is) to offer RSS feeds as a bonus to sponsors who would like them. I've had a few requests for them, so was pleased to try beta testing the system.
Now I'm not quite so pleased 😉.
The RSS feed for sponsors will contain no additional content, it is just an alternative way of reading the same weekly posts.
With luck … normal service will now be resumed.
