Blackberries

There are still a few flowers remaining on the blackberries although the majority now have well developed fruit. The combination of good weather and sufficient rain has provided a bumper crop.

Remember to pick them before Old Michaelmas Day (10^th October) after which they’re cursed by Satan, or – more prosaically – before the first frosts, which makes the fruits mushy.
